Things to explore…
ANXIETY
You will learn to pay attention to what your body is telling you by getting quiet, listening, & tuning in. Your anxiety, overwhelm, and stress have been trying to tell you something. Learn strategies and tools to regulate your nervous system so you can move through your day with ease.
TRAUMA
We will explore different parts of your life to process trauma and untangle a past that keeps you stuck. We will look at your trauma with tenderness to find a path for healing. This will allow you to be more present in your life and relationships.
GRIEF
We will acknowledge your grief by giving it space. We will push back on society's pressure to ‘move on’ by slowing down, settling in, & allowing grief to be part of your life.
EATING DISORDERS
We will explore the ‘why’ behind disordered eating & exercise. What keeps you stuck in the cycle & how it has served a purpose in your life. Most importantly, how to ‘feel your feelings’ so you can let go of the eating disorder.
What therapy can look like
How we can explore…
Talk Therapy
We use the session to process, explore, & deepen your understanding about yourself through questions, reflections, and perspective shifts.
Walk and Talk Therapy
A great way to shift perspective is to change your environment. We can do this by taking a mindful walk outside to help ground you in the fresh air. This is not exercise-based but meant to support your nervous system.
Consulting
Provide support and expertise to colleagues in assessing and treating clients with eating disorders.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
This is an evidence based technique that uses eye movements to target emotions or sensations attached to a traumatic event. In ART we say, ‘Keep the knowledge, lose the pain,’ because the facts remain but your emotional response to them can change. Learn More
Mind-Body Connection
We use simple breathing techniques and body movements to connect and come back into your body. This might be seated or standing stretches, meditations, and/or breath work. We pay attention to what is happening in your body and nurture those sensations.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
This focuses on acceptance of thoughts, identifying values, and commitment to living a values based life. Mindfulness skills are at the heart of this process. Learn More
